Parenting Coordination is the process by which individuals with the help of a specially trained mediator continue to work together to improve communication and resolve issues regarding their children. The parenting coordinator is a neutral individual committed to helping the couple move forward and learn additional skills to benefit the welfare of the children.
A parenting coordinator under certain circumstances may testify in court or writes reports. Dr. Hohnecker requires that individuals working with her sign a contract that gives her binding authority on decisions made if one or both of the parties cannot agree. The decision stays in place until the court rules.
At the end of each meeting, Dr. Hohnecker will provide a copy of her notes and any agreements reached to both parents for their review and comments.
